A SIP address looks very much like an email address, however it is defined for VOIP calling. One of the first things that my phone service will do is to acquire a SIP Broker code for their customers. This should be easy enough when a couple of SIP servers will come online. All SIP numbers will be SIP://phone-number@pcs1.ws. Therefore, +1 555 555 5555 will have a SIP address of SIP://15555555555@pcs1.ws. This maybe confusing for some which is why there will be SIP Broker integration.
In addition to SIP addressing, one could call a SIP Broker number by replacing the * with 111, therefore Callcentric’s voice test line will be 111 462 17771234567. All telephone numbers will have this capability (even cellular and secondary numbers). However, the call will behave as if someone dialed the number directly. Therefore calling the cellular phone’s number will ring the cellular phone, and calling a voicemail number will go to the voicemail.
