SIP Broker is a service that allows people to call another SIP Broker supported carrier just by knowing a few digits. Every SIP carrier does something different to access the SIP Broker network, so this is something the caller will need to learn. With PCS 1, accessing a SIP Broker number will be to prepend the number with 111 and drop the *. To call Callcentric’s phone test line, you would need the SIP Broker code for Callcentric (*462), and the number 17771234567. Knowing these two pieces of information, the customer will dial the following number:
111 462 17771234567.
111 is the PCS access code to SIP Broker. 462 is the SIP Broker code for Callcentric, and 17771234567 is the UID of the phone test line. Obviously, you would replace the test line number with another Callcentric customer, and if you are calling another SIP provider, you would use a different SIP Broker code.
